There are over 9 million unpaid carers in the UK. Carefree transform vacant accommodation into vital breaks for these unpaid carers.

About the project

Carefree are a registered UK charity, dedicated to being a "new kind of charity" by championing the use of technology as part of their solution. We partnered with Carefree on a pro-bono basis to design and create a new digital platform for their online presence.

Solution

The first thing we did was set about unifying their design language, whilst the brand was strong (it had been built by Pentagram afterall), there were a lot of mismatching elements across the website that we felt were letting the charity down. We therefore worked on a small design system, built in Figma, to help us design out a site and to handover once the project was complete. Enabling their team to continue to iterate on our work and work on designing any new pages they needed.

Strategy

Whilst working with the internal team at Carefree, we noticed their reliance on a myriad of services like Wordpress, Intercom and Typeform to name just a few.
As we'd already agreed to help them on design and as a predominantly no-code business, we knew a new Webflow site was where to take them.

The build

We took our designs from Figma directly into Webflow, delivering Carefree a customised set of durable components and a few pages that would help them revolutionise their digital offering and set them on the best path to push on with their vital work.
